Is Israel trying to force a 'totaler Krieg' on the Middle East, involving Lebanon, Syria and Iran?
The information seems to point to this. But the fatal flaw in the reasoning of the Israelis is that by destroying the Hezbollah and Hamas they think they'll destroy the resistance, but they will be destroying the whole people, and that is exactly what is happening. A war that deliberately kills children cannot be justified by any means.
Israel is also slowly but surely destroying its own right to peaceful existence in the region; it is a threat to all countries around it. The foundation of the state of Israel was a huge mistake, it came about by terror, it fostered an ideology of myth (the holy land) and fundamentalism, and imported people not indigenous to the region. I would invite the Jewish people to emigrate to Europe. I have Jewish neighbours in the street (born in Israel) and they are perfectly happy and safe here. More of them are welcome. An ethnic cleansing of the Middle East will make the Israeli nation guilty of the same crimes the Jews had to suffer years ago. It's insane. In psychology it is an accepted fact that victims tend to afflict their own sorrows on others. The Israeli government needs a massive psychotherapy.
In Europe the general sense of guilt for what happened during WWII has kept many people from criticizing Israel, for fear of being called anti-Semite. And this allowed history to repeat itself in a weird way.
Israel is losing the support of millions of people now. Only war criminals, like George Bush, continue to unconditionally support Israel.
