George Dubya Bush: "Osama bin Laden calls this fight the third world war. He says victory for the terrorists in Iraq will mean America's defeat and disgrace forever. They have made it clear they want to create as much carnage and death as possible to cause us to leave before the job is done. They have ambitions. They want to topple moderate governments. They want to control oil to blackmail the West. They want us to leave and dash the hopes and aspirations of millions of people who want to live in peace."

Bush is simply describing his own policies: he has ambitions, he wants to topple governments, he wants to control oil to blackmail the world and gives carnage and death to all nations that want to live in peace.

Bush hasn't even been able to solve the anthrax case yet. Probably because their was CIA involvement.

WashingtonPost: "Seven retired federal judges from both political parties have joined dozens of Guantanamo Bay detainees in urging an appeals court to declare key parts of President Bush's new anti-terrorism law unconstitutional.
The judges, in a rare court filing Wednesday, said stripping courts of the right to question how the military handles terrorism suspects 'challenges the integrity of our judicial system' and effectively sanctions the use of torture."

Editor&Publisher: "Now we learn that one of the first female soldiers killed in Iraq died by her own hand after objecting to interrogation techniques used on prisoners.
She was Army specialist Alyssa Peterson, 27, a Flagstaff, Ariz., native serving with C Company, 311th Military Intelligence BN, 101st Airborne. Peterson was an Arabic-speaking interrogator assigned to the prison at our air base in troubled Tal-Afar in northwestern Iraq. According to official records, she died on Sept. 15, 2003, from a 'non-hostile weapons discharge'."
Alyssa Peterson was a true American, she died with her conscience, her sense of justice and liberty still intact, she died because the system gave her no other choice.
Alyssa Peterson, I salute you.

LATimes: "Since John Kerry 'botched' a joke and implied that those without education 'get stuck in Iraq', political leaders from both parties have been piously describing U.S. troops as valiant young Einsteins in desert camouflage. But deep down, a lot of them probably think Kerry is right.
For many in Congress, serving in the military is a fine thing to do - for all those poor schmoes who don't have any better options, that is.
And though the average member of the military is neither poor nor uneducated, social and economic elites are dramatically underrepresented in the military.
Want to make sure that the U.S. never again gets stuck in a pointless and aggressive war? Draft Congress!"

LATimes: "All of the world's fishing stocks will collapse before midcentury, devastating food supplies, if overfishing and other human impacts continue at their current pace, according to a global study published today by scientists in five countries.
Already, nearly one-third of species that are fished - including bluefin tuna, Atlantic cod, Alaskan king crab, Pacific salmon and an array in California fisheries - have collapsed, and the pace is accelerating, the report says.
If more protections are put into place, such as new marine reserves and better-managed commercial fisheries, seafood supplies will surge and the oceans can recover, they said."
The problem again is the private industry that does not feel responsible for anything apart from profits and a government that is retreating from interference in business.
