Guardian: "Detectives are investigating whether Lord Levy, Labour's chief
fundraiser, urged one of Tony Blair's most senior aides to shape the
evidence she gave to Scotland Yard, the Guardian has learned.
Police
have been investigating whether Ruth Turner, the prime minister's
director of external relations, was being asked by Lord Levy to modify
information that might have been of interest to the inquiry. Officers
have been trying to piece together details of a meeting they had last
year. Ms Turner gave an account of it to her lawyers and this has been
passed to police."

NewYorkTimes: "I. Lewis Libby Jr., the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, was convicted on Tuesday of lying to a grand jury and to F.B.I. agents investigating the leak of the identity of a C.I.A. operative in the summer of 2003 amid a fierce public dispute over the war in Iraq."
Huffington: "Before the GOP spin machine kicks into high gear, shouting from the mountain tops that the Libby verdict
is just about making false statements to the FBI, and that no one was
ever charged with the underlying crime of outing Valerie Plame, let's
make it clear that Libby was found guilty not just of perjury but of
obstructing justice -- obstructing justice in order to encumber the
investigation and keep secret the dark, ugly truth about how the White
House sought to cover up its lies about Iraq and its efforts to
intimidate and silence critics of the administration. But
the cover ups are unraveling. And they are unraveling at a speed and in
a quantity that guarantee Bush's legacy will both be marked by the
tragedy of the Iraq war, and soiled by corruption, indictments, and
convictions."
ThisIsLondon: "Dick Cheney has been diagnosed with a blood clot in his left leg,
leading to speculation he will be forced to resign as U.S.
Vice-President."

Ynetnews: "While crossing one of the checkpoints into
East Jerusalem the Archbishop of Cologne, Cardinal Joachim Meisner,
told reporters: "This is something that is done to animals, not
people." Meisner, a resident of eastern Germany, said that the fence
reminded him of the Berlin Wall and that in his lifetime he did not
believe he would see such a thing again. As the Berlin Wall was brought
down so will this wall be brought down, he said, adding that the fence
served no purpose.
The delegation's visit to Ramallah took place several hours
after their visit to Yad Vashem and several of the bishops chose to
equate the situation in the Palestinian Authority with the Holocaust."
