CommonDreams: "Amnesty International urged the United States on Thursday to abandon plans to try Guantanamo prisoners before military tribunals and asked other nations not to contribute any evidence for use at the trials."

WashingtonPost: "The leader of the Justice Department team that prosecuted a landmark lawsuit against tobacco companies said yesterday that Bush administration political appointees repeatedly ordered her to take steps that weakened the government's racketeering case.

Sharon Y. Eubanks said Bush loyalists in Attorney General Alberto R. Gonzales's office began micromanaging the team's strategy in the final weeks of the 2005 trial, to the detriment of the government's claim that the industry had conspired to lie to U.S. smokers."

WireTap: "On Monday March 19th, on the 4-year anniversary of the war in Iraq, Bay Rising spearheaded a blockade, rally and protest at the main entrance of Chevron's world headquarters in San Ramon to expose Chevron's role in driving the war for oil in Iraq, polluting communities worldwide and contributing to global climate chaos.

Our 'no war, no warming' messaging provided an opportunity for peace and climate justice activists to learn about, collaborate and target common enemies, such as corporations like Chevron, who are sabotaging efforts to transition to a green economy. This cross-movement alliance will deepen in 2007 with a planned 'no war, no warming' protest in the fall."

Instead of focusing on those oh-so-cute whales, Greenpeace would do better to fight against the polluting effect of wars. You're losing it, guys!
