NewStatesman: "America won't simply be paying with its dead. The Pentagon is trying to silence economists who predict that several decades of care for the wounded will amount to an unbelievable $2.5 trillion.
The cost to Britain of the Iraq war, according to the Ministry of Defence, will hit £5bn at the end of this financial year. This is the figure given for direct spending on fuel, ammunition, repairs and transport; the real bill is certainly much bigger. The greatest of the uncounted costs is the financial and human toll the war is taking on the mental and physical health of British personnel serving in Iraq."

And all this waste, human and financial, has not yet led to the impeachment of the criminal-in-chief, George W. Bush.
Of course, the GOP hypocrites are not to be blamed.
RawStory: "Potential Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich admitted in an interview with conservative Christian group Focus on the Family that he had an extramarital affair even while leading the charge to have President Clinton impeached."

You see, repuglicans are allowed to lie and cheat, they know they are lying and cheating, their supporters know they are lying and cheating, but their religion has only one principle: 'power means money'. And they will get it by all means.

A picture named Sample.jpg The advantage of a news aggregator is that you can see which posts have been changed since their initial upload. See image.
The International Herald Tribune has changed two impeccable news items. First they had some real information, now they have been rendered totally innocuous and Bushified.
I won't link to the IHT because their site is badly structured and/or has some malware that damages your computer controls. It doesn't work properly and ruins the copy and paste command for everything while their page is on your desktop.

If you want an honest opinion you can count on the blogosphere.
CultureKitchen: "In Brazil, more than 10,000 protesters (according to BBC news) turned out in the capital of Sao Paulo to protest the arrival of America's appointed President, Georgoe Bush."

cbs2: "Mayan priests will purify a sacred archaeological site to eliminate 'bad spirits' after President Bush visits next week, an official with close ties to the group said Thursday.
'That a person like (Bush), with the persecution of our migrant brothers in the United States, with the wars he has provoked, is going to walk in our sacred lands, is an offense for the Mayan people and their culture,' Juan Tiney, the director of a Mayan nongovernmental organization with close ties to Mayan religious and political leaders, said Thursday."

FAS: "The Federal Bureau of Investigation made numerous 'improper and illegal' uses of the investigative tool known as 'national security letters', by which it gathers information in national security cases, a report (large pdf) by the Justice Department Inspector General found.

TCR: "The Bush administration is censoring scientists? You don't say.
Internal memorandums circulated in the Alaskan division of the Federal Fish and Wildlife Service appear to require government biologists or other employees traveling in countries around the Arctic not to discuss climate change, polar bears or sea ice if they are not designated to do so."
