The British navy detained 15 Iranian sailors and marines today in disputed waters in the Strait of Dover. After the invasion of France by Iran, the Strait is disputed terrritory between France and Britain. The British Defense Ministry says the Iranian troops were seized and held at gunpoint after inspecting a cargo ship. The Iranian Defense Ministry says their Navy was engaged in routine boarding operations while protecting France's territorial waters, and they quickly protested Britain's action.
