TimesOnline: "Federal US agents have seized disabled F14 fighter jets from museums in California because of fears that parts would be sold to Iran.
The raids reflect the nervousness that is driving policy towards the Islamic republic at a time when the US has stationed two aircraft carriers in the Gulf and is alleging that Iranian Revolutionary Guards are aiding attacks on its soldiers in Iraq. One European diplomat described the raids as evidence of American paranoia."

ThinkProgress: "Army Secretary Francis Harvey resigned last week after the neglect and squalor at Walter Reed military hospital was exposed by the Washington Post.
Harvey not only oversaw these conditions, but chose to place Lt. Gen. Kevin Kiley - who had been personally aware for years about the problems and apparently done nothing - back in control of the hospital. That decision was reversed days later by Defense Secretary Robert Gates.
Despite the terms of his resignation, Harvey today was given a celebratory farewell ceremony at the large Conmy Hall in Virginia."

cbs: "Sweden's government presented a contentious plan Thursday to allow a defense intelligence agency to monitor - without a court order - E-mail traffic and phone calls crossing the nation's borders."
As usual Sweden hops behind developments. While other countries are leaving the brotherhood with Bush, Sweden has seen the burning Bush. Since Sweden's neocon course and the take-over of the Säpo by Bill och Bull, it's going down with the country.
Guess who is threatening dear old Sweden with invasion? Yes, indeed, Iranian spies.
It's their normal trick. First it was Palestinians, then Kurds, then Iraqis, now Iranians. And as usual the Säpo very adequately plays the mainstream press to put pressure on the government.
Help, Sweden is being invaded. Karlsson and Pippi Långstrump where are you? All hands on deck!
