(US-Maryland-Baltimore) Responsible for independently performing the routine duties of a research laboratory, including weekly primary cultures of neonatal rat cardiac myocytes (including sacrafice of the rat pups) to establish and maintain confluent monolayer cultures. Postdocs and graduate students will depend on successful cultures for their experiments. The incumbent will be responsible for purchasing supplies and equipment, and keeping accurate records of laboratory spending. The incumbent will also be responsible for the general maintenance of the laboratory and equipment, and preparation of stock solutions. Independent projects may be assigned once basic duties have been mastered.
