Food For The Soul
One of the few meals I can still eat from my college days is macaroni & cheese. Specifically, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Dinner (accept no substitutes). Forget all that Chicken Soup for the Soul garbage. The real soul soothing action can be found in all that cheesy goodness. Mac & Cheese with ham. Mac & Cheese with tuna. Mac & Cheese with damn near anything is well above average. Not exactly a wine and candlelight dinner, but who eats many of those anyway?
Now I wasn't aware of the history of the stuff until tonight, but it is nice to know it isn't a recent concoction. Macaroni and cheese has a history, damn it. At least more of a history than the hamburger. Or hot dog. Or blue ketchup.
The only unfortunate thing is the official website for Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Dinner: TooMunchFun?? I'll admit I like the stuff, but I'm not having the time of my life whenever I fix some up. My food doesn't need to be happy, nor if it were would it necessarily make me happy. I don't want to know if my steak was happy right before they dropped the hammer on him.
By the way, you can take a test to see which Macaroni and Cheese you are. The results are in for me:

You can also go to another site and take a survey, then read what everyone else had to say. Lots of ideas on what to throw into your next mac & cheese.
So promise yourself that you'll have macaroni and cheese soon. It won't necessarily be happy when you eat it, but you and your soul will be better off for it in the end.
