Just When I Thought Winter Was Over
I honestly thought I'd seen the last of serious snow for this winter. But no. Imagine my surprise when I walked outside this morning to drive off to work and saw this scene in front of me. An inch or two of snow. Yep. I wasn't happy.
Actually, I would have been happy if the snow had resulted in a delayed start to school, or perhaps a cancelation altogether. But alas, t'was not meant to be. Instead what was meant to be was me gripping the steering wheel like I was trying to wring out a wet sock for the forty-five minutes it took me to make my way to work.
Word is that the schools right around here either got canceled or they were let go at lunchtime because the roads were so bad. Ironically up at Baumholder where the weather is usually much worse than it is here where I live, the snow wasn't as bad. It snowed pretty much all day, but not hard enough for anyone to cancel half the day.
If there is one sure thing in this world, though, it's that every single one of my students is going to be up tonight praying to their snow gods that tons of the cold, white stuff gets dumped on Baumholder overnight.
Oh, and so Joey will get off my butt, here are two of the many snowflakes he emailed to me. I'm not sure if these are the ones he liked best, but I thought they were better than average.

Off to go pray to my own snow gods...
