Open House
So Franklin and I have our first visitor from the states. Marcela arrived yesterday to spend her Spring Break here in Germany. Being me, I made things more complicated than they needed to be and had her fly into London and I met her there. Then after a quick tour of downtown, we flew out to Germany last night.
Ah, Germany -- and we got treated to a great sunset on the drive home. Then I scared the crap out of her by going over 100 m.p.h. on the autobahn once the sun had set. Eventually the bruises on my shoulder will go away.
Of course you might wonder how else I might show a girl a good time in Europe? Take her to a furniture store, of course. We went out to Mobel Martin -- the place I bought a lot of the furnishings for my house. This time I didn't walk out with a new living room set and a sizeable bill. This time we walked out with a new painting for the house.
Also walked out with a buzz after taking a break in the restaurant there.
Tomorrow I'll give her an up-close view of the American military presence in Germany.
