Window?  I Don't Need Any Stinkin' Window!

Woke up.  Got out of bed.  Looked outside.  Lo and behold, twas a winter wonderland.  Great.

Eventually made it outside.  Started brushing the snow off the windows of the car.  Got around to the passenger side.  Lo and behold, I don't have a passenger window anymore

Pissed?  You bet your sweet bippy I was.

Still am, to be honest.

But not because some poor excuse for humanity decided that something in my car, something I worked hard to buy, something they hadn't lifted a finger to earn, should be their's.  Nope.  Not pissed about that.

I'm more pissed the cretin just didn't take the whole damn car.  Seriously.  This'll be the second time in as many weeks that my car will be back in the shop.  It's going to cost me yet another couple of hundred bucks to get that window replaced, take up all of my Veterans Day break, and basically cause more grief to me than if they'd just stolen the whole thing.  Then maybe I could have bought a new car that actually worked, or at the very least, had an alarm that went off if someone took a sledge hammer to the window.

Eventually I made it out to school, where a two-hour delay to the day was in progress because of the snow.  Today wasn't even a normal one school day.  It was parent conference day, during which I saw maybe 20-25 parents. While I was able to praise to the moon and back a few of my students, many parents probably went home this afternoon and promptly grounded their darlings.  Most parents aren't happy to find out that their son or daughter has lied to them about not having any homework for their AP English class for the last two months.  Even worse to find out that by not doing their homework, they're now failing the class or coming awfully close to it.  Even worse to find out that their kid's teacher has provided all sorts of resources to their kiddo in the hopes they'd actually use those resources to get an A or a B in the class, yet they ignore all that help.  That makes many parents very, very angry.  Parents are funny that way.

So yeah, I'm sure I'm not too popular right this second with some of my APers.  But hey, its easier to blame me than take a look in the mirror, right?

Maybe they'll take it out on me by stealing my car.  There's always hope.
