Nothing Says America Quite Like This
My students had an essay to turn in this week in which they chose and defended an object they think best represents America. I haven't read those essays yet, but I'm really hoping someone picked this 1,300+ calorie abomination from Hardees.
Over 1,300 calories! And that's just by itself. Throw in a large order of fries and a coke, suddenly you're looking at well over 2,100 calories in one All-American meal. That more than the recommended amount of calories you're supposed to ingest per day. And it's not as though the customers who would eat this monstrosity are likely to skip any other meals.
Perhaps even more abominable is there's also a low-carb version. As if anyone willing to cram a Thickburger down their foodhole is even remotely concerned about carbohydrates. In fact, if I were anywhere near a Hardees, I'd sit there all day just waiting to see if anyone waddled up to the counter and asked for a low-carb Thickburger. I need to meet that person. I need to know that person.
Actually, no I don't.
