The Reflex
Everyone's got their favorite cheesy 80's songs. I happen to have lots of them. Probably more than most. Now right up there in my personal pantheon of 80's cheesiness is the song "The Reflex" by Duran Duran. You know the song, right? It was a huge hit back in the summer of 1984. It's the one that keeps asking, "Whhhhhyyyyyyyyy don't you use it?" and never telling you what "it" is. To this day I'm compelled to use it, only I don't know if I'm using the right it. Don't want to lose it, either.
And how can you forget a chorus like:
The reflex is an only child, he's waiting in the park The reflex is in charge of finding treasure in the dark And watching over lucky clover, isn't that bizarre Every little thing the reflex does leaves you answered with a question mark
No one writes nonsensical crap like that anymore. Not even Avril. Almost wish she would.
That of course leads to Reflex, a game which will quickly burn up a half hour or so as you advance through all 25+ levels of reflection fun. Play Reflex with "The Reflex" set on repeat, and I promise you'll have everyone around you answered with a question mark.
