Who Looks A Little Out Of Place?
Take a good look at the picture above. Do you notice someone who looks a little out of place at what is obviously a solemn event by the way everyone else is dressed?
Does that someone look familiar? I'll give you a clue: his name is "Dick."
Yep, that's our vice president in the front row, surrounded by world leaders, at the recent 60th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz. Everyone else is dressed in dark, somber attire with winter dress hats. Our guy is dressed in an olive green parka with his name stitched across the front. Everyone else has dress shoes on. Cheney has hiking boots.
He looks like he's ready to see Michigan kick it off to Notre Dame in late November, not representing the United States at the rememberance of one of history's darkest times.
Way to go, Dick.
By the way, many of the other countries represented sent their presidents. Germany, Russia, Israel, and France, among others. Bush didn't go, even though the US had as big a role as anyone in the liberation of Auschwitz. Instead he sends a guy who can't dress appropriately in his place. Speaks volumes, doesn't it?
