Which reminds me of a quote my pops keeps on sharing with me by a bloke called David Squires who argues for a 'subversion of the designers intentions to match contextual needs' in a paper called "Educational Software & Learning: Subversive Use & Volatile Design". I'm not sure if it's in this paper (haven't read it fully yet) but he's after 'incorporated subversion' which reminds me of Paulo Freire and Teaching as a Subversive Activity in that these horrific forms of assesment should be well & truly done away with and that learning should be directed by the learners. Something which most LMSs singularly fail to provide but which weblogs are ideal for.
In another life as an ESL teacher I was very into (still am really but don't have the opportunity to experiment so much) the DOGME group of language teachers and their teaching-unplugged pedagogy. They argue that the most important resource in a classroom is the learners & are strongly anti-textbook (and online learning, unfortunately, although I've tried to make a case :o). They even have a ripping set of 'Vows'... now I wonder if there could be a set of vows for online learning... could be fun!
Either way, learner independence, complex learner-centred learning and the joy of 'uncovering reality' as opposed the the nasty 'banking' & testing pedagogies is established understanding... so it's about time someone started paying attention!!!

Talk about a collection of wonderful Flash stuff!
The Flash Film Festival - God I love elearningpost for pointing out this stuff!
It's interesting that Flash stuff is being increasingly used for story-telling, case studies and alike. A kind of attempt at experiential learning perhaps? I reckon tho' that as demonstrated by several of these sites, the future of educational Flash design will rest in the communication possibilities offered through a single frame. For example, in the education-drugs one you can see the asynch communication playing an absolutely key role, start incorporating audio & video & then yer talking.
Anyb ody know if there are and Flash weblogging tools out there? Then again, what'd be the point.. this seems to be doing the job just fine :o)
