Authentication Again
I wonder whether a weblog could be made public and yet participation in that weblog (as a discussion member, collaborative member, access to some areas) be authenticated? Well, I guess of course that 'can' happen. What I'm really wondering is:
a. Whether it should (say, if a weblog was being used in the same way as Blackboard is used in many Universities)?
b. How bleedin' difficult it would be to set up & manage?
I wonder what the result of a university opening up it's LMS courses to the whole world would be? I mean, I know MIT are placing all their content online, but not the discussion & learning that takes place during the course...
