Mostly news stories or articles of interest in the future to me. I'll eventually get around to adding my own ideas and stories on a more regular basis.

Two Quotes...

"The first question I ask myself when something doesn't seem to be beautiful is why do I think it's not beautiful. And very shortly you discover that there is no reason." -John Cage

If everyone felt this way, wouldn't the world be a better place?  There's so much beauty that we ignore.  Next time you're annoyed, look for the beauty.

"What else is love but understanding and rejoicing in the fact that another person lives, acts, and experiences otherwise than we do?"  - Friedrich Nietzsche

And along those same lines, there's a simplicity of thought to rejoice in our differences and find the beauty in them.  I love to hear the different thoughts people have from things like doing the same activity or some-such. And surely our love is felt when we hear those opinions and thoughts and realize how much is added to our lives through others.

I could've added another variable, 'cause I got rid of one today.  Variable is kinda the wrong word, but I like it.   Heh.

A long day, but I'm allowing myself no nap so that I can sleep well tonight and get up in the morning and start working.  Actually, maybe I'll work a bit tonight.

I did go to the dog park today, played some frisbee, hung out a bit with Scott, had pizza and a movie with G.  We saw Ladder 49 at the Senator...I, personally, loved it.  I cried like 5 times while watching it (twice were happy tears).  It's been a while since I watched a movie that was that made me cry - maybe since "in america" (great movie).  It was cool that it was filmed in B-more too, so I was seeing local spots...just makes you feel a step closer to the storyline.  Afterwards I went by Goodwill and then picked up some paperwork from the office.

Oh, the story on why the boy's got to be driven around last night....the Jaycees had a "penny war" to raise some funds to donate to Baltimore Reads.  We did boys against girls.  The boys did like 150 pounds of pennies to the girls 50 pounds.  Ouch!  I was happy that my car of guys were into blues...and Jason R. even knew my favorite song.  Yay!

Speaking of the Jaycees, Friday we had our biggest fundraiser of the year - an art auction.  We raised like $1100 or something, so that was pretty cool - double what we did two years ago.  It's going to be fun to spend that on community projects....we're pretty kid oriented, as a chapter, so that'll make it even more fun.

It's good stuff.  A good weekend, made better by knowing I don't have to get up at a set time tomorrow.

Do I even allow my mind to add another possible variable to an already befuzzling situation?  Thank goodness I was the designated driver or I would've given in and just added it.  It's hard when your heart, body and brain are not aligning.  It can be enough to drive you crazy to try to figure out which player wins and tells your soul what to do.

A happy soul trying to listen to them all with their lists and their unplanned reactions...

For tonight, I think brain took home the gold and heart came in a close second....with body pulling up a sloooooow last place.  It'll probably be the first to go anyway, right?  ;)

Soul...yeah, I never got around to deciding what I think about souls.

In other news, I have to leave for the dog park in 7 hours, so I better get to sleep.
