Tonight, daughter Josie is going to a party with a bunch of her friends from Aycock Middle School  - both Jewish and Christian and all points in between.  But instead of calling the party something bland like a "Holiday Party", they came up with a blended moniker - it has been dubbed a HannuMas Party.  The gift giving also takes on a new name... instead of the "Secret Santa" theme - they are employing a "Secret Santukka".

Is this a wonderful country, or what?

It's been over a week since Jinni's first chemo treatment.  Although things might change with subsequent infusions of Epirubicin and the other cancer treatment drugs they will be pumping in to her, so far her body seems to think that chemotherapy is some kind of a rejuvinating elixer.  She feels great and looks wonderful.

The highlight of the last week was getting her hair cut and sent off to Locks of Love.  As you can see, I came home last night to a different woman than I kissed good-by on Monday when I departed for Charlotte.  I really like the change.

She also purchased her "cranial prothsesis" this week in anticipation of the next change in her coiffure.  She modeled it for me and the kitchen crowd last night and it is a very faithful reproduction of her pre-haircut mane.  After seeing her with short hair, however... I think she might want to consider getting her new wig re-styled to reflect her new - albeit presumably short-lived - look.

In the interest of keeping my blogroll of recommended sites up to date with webloggers who actually blog I have removed City Councilwoman Yvonne Johnson's weblog from my list of links.

Although I was excited at the prospect of Yvonne writing a weblog when she made her first post back on Nov. 11th, her posting frequency fell quickly after that. Her second - and last - comment was on November 12th.  I'll keep up with her blog by periodically clicking on her link which will likely remain a part of other weblogs.  I truly hope she will find the time to try blogging again in the future.
