PressThink is holding on to the Greensboro blogging story like a dog who found his bone after a lot of sniffing and digging. He is convinced that a fundamental change in journalism is afoot here in the Gate City. In a follow-up to Saturday's piece that got everyone up to speed, Jay Rosen delves deeper today and opines, "I think it's national news." He also interviews Roch Smith, Jr in the post.
He is somewhat surprised that more local folks haven't taken the N&R up on their call for suggestions as to how to corral this bunch of cats who blog in a way that will be the most beneficial to the entire communtity. I don't know about nationally Jay, but in Greensboro we are a little too busy trying to figure out how to get paid for our hobbies to give much thought to such a little thing as the future of journalism. (I'm smiling, GSO guys).
Here's what I said and suggested over at Rosen's. Your turn.

Update: Come to find out, other city's newspapers are already featuring local weblogs: here's Syracuse and Spokane (links via the very resourceful Rosen)
