   Hogg's Blog

David Hoggard's take on local politics and life in general from Greensboro, NC

Thursday, January 20, 2005

At last night's Blogger Meetup, I brought up an idea that had been percolating in my brain for a while.  This morning Chewie got the ball rolling over at Greensboro101.com.  Good.

The idea is to identify a community issue and get local bloggers to focus on it for a period of time with an eye toward compiling all of the posts into a collaborative end product.  I imagine the resulting expose' would be part opinion, part hard news, but all of the content would be built on individual blogs and cross-posted to an aggregator with an editorial panel.  That panel's charge would be to bring the whole thing together into a unified document for 'publication'.

As I said over at 101,  such a project seems like a natural progression of this whole citizen media thing we've got going on here in Greensboro. The next logical step.  And Roch thinks there might be money to be made, which would be good, but hopefully not the driving force.

Read about it and join in.
