Mr. Sun on Marcus Kindley:  If I... were king... of the County.  "Hillarity ensues..."

How I missed this, I don't know.  Back on June 17th, The Inside Scoop did a piece on Aycock's very own Summit Executive Center.  In the article, one of the four owners of the property - next door orthodondist Paul Watkins - claimed the following:

"...Summit Executive Center is singled out for unfair attention, particularly from Aycock residents. Nearby businesses, he said, don't have problems with the building."

What a bunch of horse manure.  Last year the neighborhood held a called meeting with the police, residents, and business owners in the vicinity of the 'executive' flop house specifically to try and get some crime issues solved .  Owners of 'nearby businesses' were far from pleased with what was going on with the property.  Just ask them, N&R.

That place is a puss-filled pimple on an otherwise fine business district on that part of Summit Avenue.  It is my wish that the city's inspection department keeps the heat on the owners - two of which are friends of mine - with whom I have expressed displeasure many times.

... but now I'm found.

Mr. Sun, bless his heart, did a little noodling around with Google and found the original post by Marcus Kindley, the Chairman of the Guilford GOP, with seven of the ten comments intact.  Good to know that Google is at least somewhat immune to Greensboro's power outages and hungry dogs looking to make a meal out of homework and controversial blog postings.

Mr. Sun goes on to offer this suggestion in the comments to this post "...from this day forward, all Greensboro bloggers should use the word "Kindling" to refer to to the stupid and wrongheaded posts they wish to to throw on the fire and be incineratated. It will stand as a sign of respect for the most hysterical made-me-wet-my-pants flat-out lie yet attempted."

Kindling, yeah... that fits.

Having read Kindley's exchange with Roch Smith, Jr., I now believe that a ''power outage" just might have actually occured over at the GOP chairman's 'big tent'.  The cause of it was probably this statement...

"God grants us no rights of a political nature. We only have one right as it concerns God. We have the right to accept his sacrifice on the cross for our sins, and except him as our savior. To read and study his teachings and those of his diciples and live our lives accordingly."

I am now satisfied that Kindley's 'power outage' was caused by a lightning strike from Above... it was probably God's way of branding the post as 'Kindling' and saying something like, "Shut the hell up, Marcus..."

Meanwhile... the 'splainin' continues.
