It's not Star Trek, but it's not bad.  Scientific American reports that the Voyager Spacecraft Approaches Edge of Solar System.  No particular Mormon or religious angle here, I just like the story.  And please click on the link; just one hit puts "Dave's Mormon Inquiry Weblog" on the Blogstreet blogback list for Scientific American.  Now that's cool. 10:26:51 PM

Thor's Hammer Flies Again.  The Religion News Blog reports that Old Norse mythology may be approved as a religion in Denmark. Sample: Norse mythology and the worship of the old gods Odin and Thor may soon become an approved religious community in Denmark. The religious authorities have for years refused to approve the organization Forn Sidr as a religious community . . . .

. . .   Now I can't imagine what Denmark had against its own heritage of Norse mythology, which has got to be the coolest mythology around.  Check out this little site for a taste, such as Thor's bio:  [Thor] was the god of thunder and the main enemy of the giants, smashing their heads with his mighty hammer Mjollnir . . . .  Thor rode around middle-earth in his wagon which was drawn by two goats. He lived at Thruthheim in his hall, Bilskinir. He was foremost of the gods to the common man, who would call on him to ensure fertility [I guess], and widely worshiped. Hammer shaped amulets, a symbol of Thor because it was his weapon, were worn about the neck well into the christianization of Scandinavia. 10:18:39 PM

The Case that Will Not Go Away:  Deseretnews.com reports that Church, Salt Lake file motions on plaza.  The ACLU is filing its second suit against the deal by which the Church obtained the disputed easement on The Street Formerly Known as Main, in return for a valuable piece of land elsewhere in the valley, site of a future community center. 9:58:57 PM
