Church Posts DNA Articles: The official LDS.org site has a very interesting page set up posting articles by Mormon scholars on the Book of Mormon and DNA issue--it was just posted yesterday. The papers are all drawn from the Journal of Book of Mormon Studies, Vol. 12, No. 1, but over at the JBMS site the files are locked.
The postings on LDS.org are preceded by the following disclaimer: The following are not official Church positions or statements. They are simply information resources from authors with expertise in this area that readers may find helpful.

Within the Shady Woodland
There's a real nice photo essay at Meridian Magazine with about fifteen nice pictures of the Sacred Grove from various angles, with lots of suggestive beams of light cascading down through the canopy above. Nice for the "never been to New York" folks like me. (Well, I've been through the airports a few times, just didn't have time to sightsee.) And check out the wholesome-looking all-American Korean family the journalist met in the grove, featured on the home page. They look so darn happy. I guess I find the people more interesting than the trees.

Mormon Website of the Week: I discovered this General Authority biography site (unofficial, of course) five minutes ago while prepping my last post. Hats off to Grandpa Bill, whoever you are. Talk about a handy resource--you can actually learn something about the guy you've never heard of coming to your Stake Conference next month.
Ever seen an alphabetical list of all the GAs there ever were? From Angel Abrea to William Craig Zwick, they're all here. There are 21 Smiths. Since it's unofficial, it includes the excommunicated GAs too, such as Oliver Cowdery ("actually filed charges against Joseph for adultery"); Matthias Cowley ("unable to accept continuing revelation"); and George P. Lee (you'll have to read that one yourself). Add this site to your "LDS Research Tools" folder.

God and Football: Yes, Mormons sense the deep connection, too. It really helps the mainstreaming campaign. Read this tearjerker about a Ute star who turned his life around from deseretnews.com. Happy this kid turned things around in the second half. Somehow I don't think he would have fit in at BYU.
