Happy Year of the Monkey!

Mark Oliver of the Guardian has a nice compendium of info on Chinese New Year, which begins tomorrow. It’s the year of the monkey, apparently heralding tumult and trickery (this is new?!). On the other hand, it’s good to be born in a year of the monkey since they are considered “smart and lively.” (A table of animal years is here. I am a dog, which fits me to a tee.) Oliver also links to a long discussion about the Year of the Monkey by a Chinese astrologer (it looks interesting – will have to read it later). Happy New Year!
