Saw "Once" Saturday night. Yeah, I don't see a lot of "blockbusters." You'll more often find me at the Neon Movies in Dayton than at a Cinemark. This is a good movie, with the story told mostly in music about a collaboration and blossoming romance between an Irish street musician and a Czech musician. It features Glen Hansard and his Irish band "The Frames" and is set in Dublin. The film manages to do something that American directors especially don't seem capable of doing--maintaining romantic tension. For the last 20 years at least American movies (and TV shows for that matter) can't seem to hold romantic tension for longer than say 20 seconds before the characters jump into bed and the story degenerates from there. This film holds it past the end of the movie. Well told tale.
