On The Road On the Road [from FatherSwanson] The word on the street is that Kerouac's original manuscript for his novel On The Road will be on exhibit around the country. Check our this article from the SF Chronicle about the exhibit. It will be in Chicago at Columbia College from August 15 - November 15 of 2006. Just a little wait.

Rolling Back the Prices...and pay [posted By Troy] Well, the first WalMart is going to be built in Chicago. After tons of fighting, WalMart has broken into Chicago. We were talking about this today, and really, keeping WalMart out of Chicago isn't really a solution to the problem. What needs to happen is a nationwide push to get WalMart to pay its workers and get them off of government support.

Wowzers [posted by Troy] I was shocked to learn thatHunter S. Thompson committed suicide. He was a journalistic pioneer and explorer of the counter culture. I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of his writing, but I appreciate what he has done. But, I was very shocked to see that he had died.
