A Day in My Life
After I posted my blog this morning, I decided it might be fun to try to capture the rest of my day on camera. So here goes. After breakfast, I spent some time weeding in my garden and watching the bees go about their business.

Wild Iris

Alpine Poppies

Then we all went off to the park, where we enjoyed entertainment in the big tent.....

All City Big Band

Turkish Dancers

....ate some food (I chose Thai)....

...and went to a skateboarding competition.

Then it started to rain. The photo below was taken by Jamie, who was inside the car, while I was getting drenched outside. I was holding a black rain jacket over me, which is why it looks so dark.

Now I'm home, have had a nice soak in the tub, and am about ready to settle down with an Ian Rankin book, until Iris calls to be picked up. Jamie is sleeping over at a friend's house.

Guess that's one way of doing it!

Canada Day
It's turning out to be a wonderfully lazy Canada Day. I stayed in bed until 10 this morning (unheard of for me) finishing off a book called 'The Lovely Bones'. It's about a 14 year old girl who is brutally raped and murdered, and who sits in heaven and watches her family, friends, murderer, etc. as they move through life and try to cope with her death. Parts of the book weren't believable but it was compelling nonetheless.

As soon as I can get the kids moving, we'll go down to Rotary Peace Park for the Canada Day festivities.

Good Start
I see from the St. Albert Tournament web site that Alan's team won their first game. Nice! It's always good to have a favourable result for your first game...boosts the morale for what's to come.
