My Voice Here's something to do if you find yourself with some time on your hands....dial the Royal Bank's 24 hour customer service number. The bank has a new feature that it calls My Voice. It's a system that allows you to verbally request the service you need instead of punching in numbers on your touch pad. I happened to call it the other day when I was trying to transfer some money to Alan.
A woman's voice started to list off services and I was supposed to say which service I needed as soon as I heard the correct one. As I was listening, I cleared by throat. The 'woman' stopped rhyming off her list and said:
"I'm sorry, I didn't hear that. Now say one of the following choices...."
I thought this was too funny. So I cleared my throat again. This time I heard:
"I'm sorry, I didn't get that. If you're not sure what to do, say 'help'. Otherwise say one of the following choices...."
I started chuckling, which prompted this:
"I'm afraid I'm having trouble understanding. Please say one of the following choices...."
After another outburst of laughter from me, the 'woman' got tired of trying to decipher my speech and deal with such a rabble rouser, and shipped me off to a real person.
