Cleaning Out the Larder I've been having fun today going through cupboards and freezers and cooking up a storm. Last year's home canned coho? Easily whipped into a salmon loaf (this was the first dish I ever learned to cook, at the age of five).Those cranberries from one - no TWO (yikes!) seasons ago? How about making a couple of cranberry-apple crisps. And those red lentils that have been hiding at the back of my cupboard for months? Best melded with the leeks and onions I bought at the farmers' market the other day to become a big pot of dahl. I only had to run to the store for one ingredient. Can you tell I'm feeling virtuous?
