My New Toy I've been wanting a pressure cooker for a long time, but I always balked at the price. Yesterday I found one for $50 off so I took the plunge. After using it only one evening, I wish I'd purchased one of these things years ago...they're amazing! I cooked a pot of rice in less time than it took me to cut up the veggies for the stir fry I was making. After dinner I foraged through the fridge and dug out all the vegetables that were showing their age. I threw them in the pressure cooker and within 20 minutes I had a wonderfully aromatic stock. Of course I couldn't stop there. While I froze some of the stock, I used to rest to make a caribou stew. It took all of 45 minutes and it tastes like it's been slow cooking all day.
