When Tropical Storm Ernesto spared Miami-Dade County residents recently, homeowners living in the Crystal Colony townhomes in Sweetwater breathed a collective sigh of relief.

Concerns of golf course and clubhouse disrepair are still lingering among Tiger Point residents. Nearly two years after Hurricane Ivan, extensive damage to portions of the 36-hole golf course includes downed trees, storm surge erosion and debris-riddled neighborhoods. According to residents, these factors are creating a compromise of property value.

The Brentwood Planning Commission said no last night to a license that would grant a homeowner the use of a pool that had a portion of fence and equipment built in community open space in the Highlands at Belle Rive.
