His children and other neighborhood children enjoyed the play set for several months, until he received a call from the subdivision’s builders, with the following message: take down the play set or face legal action.

Mr. Cheifetz also said his client’s condominium neighborhood, Discovery at Continental Orchard-Sunrise, 921 W. University Drive, was handing out fliers encouraging residents to turn their neighbors in for a $100 reward and stating violators will be fined $200 on the spot. Mr. Cheifetz said this violates the law.

Homeowners associations have been formed to provide information and form a network for general maintenance at newer developments. Some residents at Huntsfield, near Route 82 in West Nantmeal Township, were not aware of maintenance requirements for the stormwater retention basins on some properties.

That is not good news for Sunshine State residents like those at The Inlets in Venice. The condominium association's insurance premium is jumping from $65,000 this year to as much as $350,000 in 2007.
