The residents of the Bent Tree community in Palm Beach Gardens were loud and clear when the new Southampton townhouse community, just to their south, came to city council members for approval:

Potholes are like dental cavities, Ted Franks says. Both can be prevented, with thorough and regular maintenance, but once they're found, they should be treated immediately. Take care of the problem when it's small and the fix is easy. Franks, president of T.F. Franks Inc., is a self-described "pavement man." His Smithfield-based company specializes in pothole repairs using a machine that uses old asphalt to make new asphalt.
