I got nothing really deep to say about this weekend. I just had a
really nice enjoyable weekend--good times, good food, good
conversation, and good company.

I had to play "Nick Burns" for my friends this weekend, helping them
pick out a new computer. I tend to be a fan of the AMD
processors, mainly because of their cost and performance. After
visiting Best Buy, we decided on the HP Pavilion A810N. I like the specifications on this machine:
- CD-ROM
- DVD RW drive (supporting both formats)
- 512MB DDR RAM
- Athlon64 Proc
- 160GB Hard Drive
- Integrated SiS Graphics
- 9 in 1 Media Reader
This machine is not for the power gamer, but it is great for the user
occasionally working from home, emailing, web-browsing, and managing
multimedia. My free time over the next few days will be consumed
with setting this machine up. No big deal, but since I wound up
not going into the office today, I will be spending some quality time
with it tomorrow night.

I have truly become geeky and bandwidth-dependent. The last five
days has shown this. Since I use Radio Userland as my blogging
tool, I was unable to update my blog since my cable died around 2:00 PM
last Thursday.
With the return of my cable, though, I am back to blogging. I am
indeed quite annoyed that it took this long to get my service back
up. I will be having a nice chat with the folks in Comcast's
billing department for some type of pro-rated discount on all of my
services.
I am happy for the return of bandwidth to my hovel. It was so bad
the last couple of days that I was sitting in the local coffee house
reading email and working as much as I could remotely. Man, I am
such a big friggin' geek.
