Earlier this month, I posted about my sports injury.
I took the day off from work today to see an orthopedist at Mercy
Medical Center. Essentially, the ankle still hurts like a
sonofabitch, and I was worried that something was truly broken and was
now re-setting in my ankle.
The orthpedist took some x-rays, and there are no breaks at all.
The sprain is a bad one of two of the three ligaments that are inside
the ankle. She said the most important thing was to rebuild
strength in the ankle. I was offered physical therapy, but since
I have a gym membership I stated that I could do the exercises
there. To quote the joking orthopedist: "I am a little
disappointed there is no break; we won't get the chance to perform
surgery on your ankle."
That was a relief. Knock on wood, I have never had to have major
surgery. I did not want to break my awesome Ripken-like
streak.
So, later today I will hobble down to the Thirsty Dog Pub to see what seems to be a tiny number of people meeting up at the Crablogs Happy Hour. You can all make fun of my creeping old age then.
