This weekend was a busy but nice one. The weather was nice, too.
- Friday
- Attended the fund raiser mentioned here. I had some good beer and a good time with everyone--zenchick, ACW and the ACWF, and some other friends. I unexpectedly left with a new golf bag--I bid on it during the
auction, since it started at $16. I wound up getting it for $35, and
it is actually a steal. A nice Calloway golf bag, with lots of
pockets, the backpack should straps, a cover, and the tripod mechanism
to stand up on its own. Afterwards, we
grabbed some food from Gecko's, and we then enjoyed some late-night
conversation and tomfoolery. Nothing like a solid hour or so of
Harry Caray impersonations.
- Saturday
- The first game of our playoff march was at 10 AM. We won
our first game, with me getting a nice interception from my middle
linebacker spot. I would have had a touchdown, but my breakaway
speed has never been there. After that game, we had an hour until
our next game. At noon, we played the team to which we wanted to
give some payback. We smoked them, with me getting another
interception and a nice stiff-arm on the runback. We had another
hour layoff before our next game. We started slow in this game,
and it killed us. The other team was up two scores before 5
minutes had ticked off. That's what we get for giving them the
ball twice on our own 10-yard-line. We made a spirited comeback,
but we lost. Thus ended our championship drive. Beer was
drank at the field, and food was eaten at Little Havana after we
finished our beer. Dinner was Chipotle, and then the 12 hour
sleep began.
- Sunday
- I had a nice, relaxing Sunday with her, especially after our grueling Saturday. We enjoyed the weather, and we spent some time at B&N downtown. It was a beautiful day.
Unfortunately, it all has to come to an end in order for me to earn some money to pay the man.
