After a nice, restful three-day weekend, I am back to the grind.
I was welcomed by my bleating alarm clock, which I decided needed to
have its snooze button tested about 7 times. Needless to say, I
left home a bit later than usual. Now, I am at the office,
reviewing what needs to be done this week. At least it is a short
week even if I have to endure the traffic headache that is caused by
the Prince George's County graduations held at the Comcast Center. Nothing like a bunch of lost families looking for parking on campus.
For the weekend, I had a nice Friday dinner at SoBo Cafe
with my better half. It was delicious. I think that SoBo
has some of the best comfort food you can find in Baltimore, and the
price is always right.
Saturday was Brew at the Zoo
at the Baltimore Zoo (sorry, I still cannot call it the Maryland Zoo in
Baltimore). Aside from a brief 30-minute downpour we had to
endure while enroute and waiting to enter, it was a good time. I
was a little disappointed that they cordon off the folks who like to
enjoy their beer. If you wanted to enjoy some of the Zoo's
inhabitants, you had to put down your beer and exit the beer
garden. Honestly, I was too busy enjoying some of the fine
beverages there. Ellicott Mills Brewing Company had a very tasty Marzen, and I
have always liked Dogfish Head's 60 Minute IPA. I also had a nice
Resurrection to start the day. All in all, good beer and good
times with friends. If you have yet to do this, I recommend doing
it next year.
Sunday was my day of parties. I went from Pasadena, Federal Hill,
Chase, and then to Patterson Park. It was a good time, but I was
bushed by the end of the day. Monday was the final party of the
day, enjoying a day at the shore. As Neckbone has summarized so nicely, I had a great time. It was so nice and relaxing. My friends from the neighborhod came up via boat on the McFish,
which was quite cool. Much beer, good
conversation, and good eats were partaken. All in all, it
was a great way to end the holiday weekend.
