Good news, Radio8 is about to get re-wired to Manila. I hope it supports news items.
I admit, for me it is now legacy. There is something very powerful about writing a story in TextEdit, saving it to a folder with your right hand while doing a ctrl-R refrsh of your browser with your left. Content management for the masses. My life is now an outline. Curry Out

Wouldn't it be a thing od beauty if you could just click on one of those orange xml buttons and have Radio automatically subscribe for you?
The beauty is, it can be done! All radios use the local url http://127.0.0.1:5335/ so we could easily access a script (macro?) that does the work behind the scenes.....easy enough to bake, I even tried to do this through a specialized url that passes off the POST parameter in the url of the icon, but the functionality has to be a part of the default install to work for everyone. Hmm, perhaps this should be a feature request....

Niels is kind enough to point out that since I changed my weblog to the new Radio8 flow and my homepage adress changed, so did the notification in the BlogRolling Macro. You must change my address from www.curry.com to live.curry.com in order for it to work!

Looks like there's some crap about to hit the Endemol fan:
"Mediation would be a way for us to get recognition for our claimed copyrights. We created the program-concept (Stars) of the program that Endemol has produced (Starmaker), and have therefore a right for a percentage of the revenues of the program. It is only logical that we will be rewarded for the use of our idea."
Remember, There are no secrets....only information you don't yet have!

When I read the headline, somehow I was sure the next mouseclick would bring me a familiar name. Unfortunately I was right.
Ted Demme suffered a heart attack. He was 37.
Ted is Jonathan Demme's nephew. I worked with Ted for many many years at MTV and am quite shocked at this news.
His most recent film was Blow, which starred Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz.
My thoughts go out to Ted's family. We lost a great talent today.

Anglo-Dutch electronics Giant Philips is looking to take on wireless home networks.
Every day my Radio brings me news and links about BigEntertainmentCos and their endeavours to 'protect' their 'intellectual' property. Digital Rights Management [DRM], Protected CDs, Sanctioned P2P Filesharing, Proprietary Formats....
If they don't keep their eye on the overall picture, they're going to instill a culture that is no longer up to snuff with the content the audience wants.
