Dans la zone!!! Terminal Server avec MMC pour IIS, un command line sur un serveur Win2k. Putty/SSH vers une boîte Linux, sudo et VI pour tweaker. 4 fenêres de browser, IE et Mozilla, Winamp, Word, Textpad, WS-FTP et Homesite en local. Edition de la feuille de style XSL appliqué au output XML de la Google Box dans une autre fenêtre. Radio Userland dans le background sur mon autre ordi, mon laptop. Link Checker, un ajout utile à mon toolbox. Béru dans mes speakers. Yup, dans le groove, il ne me manque que du Code Red (la boisson pas le virus)... Trillian et Server Alive complètent mon taskbar. J'aime ce que je fais ça paraît? #

Je travaille de nuit ce soir. J'ai une relation d'amour/haine avec ce genre de situation. Hyper productif, focus, tranquille. Par contre ca me déséquilibre pour 3-4 jours après et je m'ennuie de ma famille dans ce cycle inversé de sommeil/veille... En tout cas un projet de recherche/analyse technique pas mal intéressant sur un sujet dont je n'ai pas trouvé de bon articles de référence récents: les logiciels d'engins de recherche pour les sites de haut volume. J'évalue et je compare AltaVista Search Engine, ASPSeek, Copernic Empower, Google Appliance, htDig, Microsoft Index Server and Site Server et  Inktomi Enterprise Search. J'aimerais bien publier le résultat si le client (qui restera anonyme) me donne la permission. Je fais des tests d'indexation et de recherche cette nuit...

you'll need the new Flash 6 plug-in, it's a very quick kludge at the moment, no loading screen, but it's only 38k so give it a few seconds. Intéressant exactement le genre de projet que je veux faire avec un de mes super projets spéciaux caché dans ma manche... XML, XSL, CSS et Flash... à suivre! #

A survey shows how radically diverse requirements in application domains give rise to different data models, confounding attempts at convergence. Yeah, I would like to develop this a bit, it touches the simplicity/complexity/flexibility issue but I am dam too busy right now...

Blog Metadata
Over at The Shifted Librarian, Jenny mentions the problems I have with Web of Blogs and The Pepys Project, why have people enter all that metadata into remote databases when the databases can collect it themselves? Aaron "Metadata" Schwartz shows you how to sign your pages. Then Web of Blogs and other projects can crawl a list from weblogs.com, blogdex or some other aggregator and be done with it. C'est un sujet chaud, surement couvert par wasabii sous categoryID mais pas la taxonomy (le grand problème)?
