Drivel:  This is a great idea and very useful in a small environment.  However, it won't scale in an enterprise where you have hundreds or thousands of data streams flowing into a directory and many people responsible for maintaining the content, particularly when the content formats are not standardized and never will be.  RSS and OPML are far too structured given the content challenges within most enterprises.  I can see this working for the development of personal knowledge directories.  As soon as you want to give people access to your personal knowledge directory it has to be from a centralized coordination point of some sort.

Scalable directories.  A way to go beyond the failures of Yahoo and DMOZ.  Or a way to use outlines to upgrade the Web and Intranets.  [John Robb's Radio Weblog]  6:56:30 PM   comments ()
