On the drive in this morning, I'm caught at the light before the entrance to the complex. As I'm waiting for the light to change, a wasp lands on my windshield, and dances around a little bit, then stops with its head pointed toward the hood of the car. The light changes, and I drive the short distance to the entrance. During the drive the wasp spreads its wings just a little into a very tight v-shape, and they are fluttering slightly. As the car accelerates, it narrows the v slightly, but not too much. It remained on my windshield, even after I park and exit the car.
Based in the insect body language, if I could have seen the wasp's face, I would swear that it would have had the same expression that dogs do when they hang out of car windows, lolling tongue and all...
