Kenai floods force evacuations, cut off Homer: "River levels in Homer are estimated to be the highest in 30 years. The New Sterling Highway is closed south of Anchor Point, along with the Old Sterling Highway, which was the alternate route. Both are now closed due to flooding, with more rain expected Friday ... Fifteen inches of rain fell over the Kenai Mountains, forcing residents along Salmon River out of their homes ... Homer is essentially an island now, after two straight days of rain created conditions that longtime residents say they haven't seen since the 1950s. "
And here in Anchorage, we still have temperatures in the 50's and no snow. What a crazy Oh man, now I know how it felt to be a Giants fan at game 3. 7:56:57 PM
