Top Venture Investors Forbes profiles the top venture investors.
"The engine of innovation still hums, despite a wretched year that saw several hundred startups go bust and upwards of 700,000 tech jobs disappear. Proof of that comes straight from the source: the members of our second annual Midas List, the elite 100 venture capitalists, angel investors, entrepreneurs, lawyers, bankers and recruiters who nurture and steer the tech economy."

so, wtf!@ userland.. we have a contract! you take my money and you make sure you apply it to my account. if you dont know where to apply the funds you send a message and ask. dont just file it away and turn off my services!

i've confirmed that my hit tracking was turned off on the 12th because that's when my trial expired. i have sent in my receipt from having paid friday, my system configuration. everything. i did that in the morning. in the afternoon i got asked to provide that same information again. i have. its hours later now and the f* database is still not updated. i track my own hits through logs on sonic.net.... but the point is we have a f* contract and your customer service is making me work and not delivering for me.

turn on my hit-tracking guys - i'm furious! you make me work and you dont f* deliver after 3 rounds of f* email. one message from me should have been enough. how do you expect to grow.. this is maddening.

'reactive mode customer service in email' == people do not read the information you send them. they reply with platitudes and make you re-send the information you told them in the initial message  ==> what a f* turnoff. worse when you have seen it happen to a friend and have experienced it yourself more than once@#@!

i'm now sorting vendors into two bins. ones that re-act.. and ones that act/or are pro-active.

Joel on Software - The Iceberg Secret, Revealed: "assume that you're going to have to build something anyway, and the customer is going to have to like it, but they're going to be a little bit surprised. YOU have to do the research. YOU have to figure out a design that solves the problem that the customer has in a pleasing way."

Amen to that. I love that guy's spin on things, he can write what i can only speak and that's put him on my hero list. Great easy reading article, use it. ... and remember:

If you can, build your UI in such a way that unfinished parts look unfinished. For example, use scrawls for the icons on the toolbar until the functionality is there.
