Feds might use MS Passport
Forget about a national ID card. Instead, the federal government might use Microsoft's Passport technology to verify the online identity of America's citizens, federal employees and businesses, according to the White House technology czar. [Seattle Times]
...hmmm, we can only hope that security really is 'job one' at MS if this comes to pass. The irony would be that the government would give monopoly control of personal access data to a convicted monopolist...oh yea, that's right they settled...mj
