John Robb's Radio Weblog -> Glenn's arrival on MSNBC proves the point.  The establishment won't be pushed aside by webloggers.  It will co-opt the best of them and/or insiders will refashion themselves quickly to take advantage of the opportunity. [John Robb's Radio Weblog]

Scott Mace's Radio Weblog -> CNET Radio as we know it on the chopping block? I just received a special email from StockTalk host Rob Black (whose newsletter I subscribe to, and recommend), the second line of which reads "CNET’s decision to stop creating radio programming was a tough one as they loved the radio product." A quick hop to the CNET Radio site reveals CNET is moving to something called CNET Radio Direct, "two daily reports that combine tech news, interviews and business intelligence" launching next month.

The apparent passing of the full CNET Radio program offering saddens me. I understand the realities of the marketplace (advertising wasn't there), but this was one talented team. As someone who has produced and hosted his own occasional Internet radio show for more than three years, my hat's off to the entire CNET Radio team.

A tool for the serious audioblogger

Handheld recording studio.

The age of silicon integration is upon us.  As long as there are customers for cool things, products like this will keep flowing.  Some people call them Information Appliances - but I like to think of them as New kinds of Tools.

Hopefully they'll be able to connect to a Home LAN and look just like anotehr tcp/ip node.  Hi-quaility MIDI anbd sampled audio is a must ingredient for compelling on-line interactive media experiences.  MIDI is the lingua franca of music and sampled sounds become the rest of the soundtrack.

The PCs (and/or game machines or set top boxes) can carry the voiceover stuff and worry about the video and graphics display.

I can't wait to tell you about what my nephew has been up to..............shhhhhhhhhh.  Or VNet.
