Dumb Mobs

Smart Mobs -> Texting While Driving - Don't Do it

In Australia The Age reports of a woman who is going to stand trial for killing a cyclist while she was driving. Senior Constable Ron Gray, of Geelong Traffic Management reported that "She told me she had been sending a text message on her mobile phone and lost concentration".

Senior Constable Glen Urquhart said studies revealed Ms Ciach's car was travelling at up to 91 kmh at the time of the collision and Mr Marsh's body was thrown 28.7 metres. "In my opinion, the car drove straight into the back of the bike," he said.

William Beaty says: "Several "traffic theories" just cry out for experimentation. Once a few Cooperator commuters can talk with fellows, we can have spontaneously organized traffic-smoothing and jam-busting events. Let smart mobs change the face of highway rush hour."

(Thanks, Bill!)

Guy who works at Yahoo designing the new photo site

Robert Scoble: Scobleizer Weblog -> I just had dinner with one of the guys who works at Yahoo designing the new photo site. He says they are wondering how they'll make money in the photo field. He says that Ofoto says they are doing OK with making money off of prints. He's excited by the field, though. It'll be interesting to see what he comes up with at Yahoo. I'll not name him for now, since I hope to get a sneak peak.

Tell him about Marc's Open Standards Architectures proposal.  No lockin, it's what his customers/consumers will need. Gives them lots of opportunities moving forward.- H.G.
