Kurosawa - Looking Straight Into the Face of Reality My father loved good movies. I remember sitting with him watching the classic movies that Channel Eleven showed at the time. I didn't watch Seven Samarai. I sat mesmerized as I was taken back into history to a far distant land called Japan. Who is not taken with the solidarity of the seven samarai with the campesinos. My favorite samarai was a the skilled swordman. He was slight and gaunt. So much so that his physical attributes would not lend anyone believe him Death's right hand man. Rain or shine, with careful precision, he worked through is repertoire of sword exericises. Sword and man were one. There was no external competition for this man. The competion was within his mind. Could he exact from himself the flawless dance with his partner day after day. He was the pure warrior. In a time when I am mutli-tasking by wearing a lot of hats from networking administrator to trainer, I sometimes feel I fall from the mark. Sometimes the slightest sense of accomplishment is worth savoring.
