Today, I heard that our principal will back at the helm today of the Enterprise Whittier School. It has been two weeks since her son died. I never did write about that. What can I say. Carmel (our case manager/technology support) and myself , had to leave right after school and run to the funeral home for the awake on Tuesday. We have class every Tuesday and Thursday at the CPS Medill Technololgy Training center at 4pm. I guess one measure of a family can be seen by how many people go to an awake. Mary and her husband were composed and very welcoming. They were in a very interesting place to be, grieving for their child yet relieved that the "Way of the Cross" for thier son over, having watched a son ravaged by Hepatitis C. They say that in the evening, it was packed. The mass was concelebrated and many friends and family went. Just a cultural note, on such a solemn occasion, in small towns in Mexico call off class.
