Evolving to perceive brands?

Here are two fascinating articles about:

1) the genetic basis of the emergence of language in humans [New York Times];

and

2) how brands reach beyond the left-brain language-processing part of the brain to stimulate the emotive right-brain. [Times of India via boing boing]

So now I'm thinking, what if they implanted that FOXP2 gene into chimpanzees or orangutans?

And how would one discover at what point a brand begins reaching the right-brain? And does that correlate with the desired "brand-name recognition"?

Too fun

Sometimes ya just got to admire simple excellence. Check this out: Zen.

The rest of the site is equally worth looking at.
